You know the south has rubbed off on you....

....when you come home from work, put on your sweats and a beater tank, and then you take your shirtless kid for a ride around the block.

Since Aiden was born in the south, he naturally knew the perfect pose.

Stayin' Alive

Really, that's what we've been doing the last month-ish. Poor Aiden doesn't remember what completely healthy feels like, which is a little strange considering we've only been sick a few times before this, and it was fairly minor issues (a couple ear infections and colds), except for decent virus over Christmas. I think what happened is that all the sicknesses got together and picked a month to attack Aiden because that's essentially what has happened.

Mid-May he got an ear infection that kept him home for two days. A week later we had hand, mouth and foot disease....which happened to get diagnosed the same day we were leaving for NY. Did I mention we were those people on the plane ride out with the sick kid who wouldn't stop fussing? Yeah, that was awesome. The next weekend we got pink eye....And then a random virus that caused a 2-day fever and bum problems. Now all symptoms are gone....except the bum problems, which the doctor diagnosed as CND. Oh, this is a super fun acronym....are you ready for it? Chronic non-specific......diarrhea! Basically all this junk he's dealt with over the last month has affected the lining of his stomach so he's not absorbing water. I'll let you put the CND together with the non-absorbed water to figure out where it's ending up.....

In addition, Aiden has two new teeth on the way in, plus two that came at the end of May. Oh - and Ryan changed jobs (yippee! for real, no sarcasm) so Aiden's entire schedule has been completely thrown off, which has been super helpful in the healing process.

But, who wants to end on a gloomy note about a bunch of sickness? Instead let's go with a picture or two and the intention to not wait nearly a month between posts again.

We felt like this a little too often this month.

But usually we are pretty happy with life.
