Sleep mask please?

Do they make baby sleep masks? Because we would most certainly buy one! Surely if my baby needs one there are other babies out there who do too, right? If I could just figure out a way to keep it from sliding down over the nose and mouth, I think it would be a pretty good product....Hmmm, maybe time for some R&D.
Mr. A started playing in his exersaucer today! Ryan and I got it out and all set up last night and eagerly anticipated Aiden's first playtime in it. Unfortunately he was a little sleepy during the first play attempt and did not find it nearly as exciting as Ryan and I anticipated, but post nap he enjoyed it MUCH more. I think he learned that the seat swivels and he can turn himself to watch the tv. Darn kid loves the tv about as much as he loves drooling. Both are problems.
He can't quite yet bounce in the exersaucer, but I think in another month we may be there.
Boo for Sunday night...currently my least favorite night of the week. I mean, wouldn't you be sad too, if you had to leave this little face when the weekend was over?

Look Ma, No Hands!

Aiden's legs are pretty stinkin' strong. My friend Christi says he could probably crawl, if he could just figure out what to do with the top half of his body. Hah. He just kicks and kicks but has no idea what to do with his arms so he only turns in circles.
Ryan decided to test out his leg strength, and Mr. A gave us a pretty good showing. I mean, it helps that he had something to chew on since his favorite activity is chewing/drooling on anything he can put his mouth on these days.
(please ignore my entirely too loud excited mommy voice....it makes for some bummer audio)

Photo dump!

My phone was moving SUPER slow because the memory was overloaded so I dumped all my pictures to my computer, and you know what that means.....photo dump to the blog time! I figure it would only be right to add a few (read: a bunch) of new pics since they are so accessible. :)
Like any mushy mom, it's SO fun for me to go back and look at pictures of my baby over the last 3 1/2 months and just think about how much he has grown. I can't believe how much he's developed just in the last 3 weeks that I've been back at work! He enjoys long stints of tummy time (happy and holding his neck up!), makes all these wonderful new noises, is about to move into size two diapers and 3-6 month clothes, is eating more at his feedings (from 4oz to 5!), and has developed a master grip (the kid grabbed his toes last night!).
So here they are, a few pictures of Mr. A that I don't believe have made their appearance on the blog yet. (apologies for any repeats.....my brain is a little sleepier these days)

Frog Prince to Drool Monster

Yup....my little frog has become a monster....a drooling, spitting up monster. I think God gave me such a messy little boy to teach me that, well, babies are messy but somehow you still adore them. If I have a choice, I don't prefer a mess of any sorts. And I also don't prefer to do much laundry. But Mr. A gives me plenty of both - messes and laundry. Now instead of wearing the same sweats three days in a row after work, I change them three different times. Good thing this face is so easy to love.....distracts me from the monsters that come with motherhood....and despite his monstrous messes, Aiden is still my little frog prince.

Love us some visitors!

Auntie M and Uncle E have been in town this past week.....we keep trying to convince them to just stick around and not go back to KC. Maybe their cars keys should just somehow disappear before Monday morning......
We went to the Sixth Floor Museum for a bit of a history lesson today. One thing we learned - the city did not go cheap on the Grassy Knoll sign.....(hah!)

Mal snapped a few fun photos for us, including a Toms family photo (just another reason for them to stay around....who else is going to take these great pictures of us....).

I realized that I forgot to post A's three month picture with Buddy. I was actually a bad mom and didn't take the picture until the 4th so it's his three month and one day picture. We are definitely going to have to get a new onesie for the four month picture...this one is on the (overly) snug side since we've been using the same one for all the monthly pictures so far. Mr. A's 13lb self just doesn't fit into the onesie quite as well as his 9lb (at one month) self.

Kaboom!

In honor of Aiden's three month birthday, work decided to let me out early and the city of Addison decided to set off a beautiful fireworks display....such thoughtfulness for our little man! For the celebration Aiden dressed in his tie dye outfit that I think also doubles as a firecracker.

We took Aiden for a height and weight check at the doc yesterday, and he came in just shy of 24 inches (23 7/8), and was 13lbs 1oz. We gave the bumbo a try for the first time today and he seemed to be a fan. His neck muscles still need to get a little stronger for him to sit in it for a prolonged amount of time, but he can (happily) do short stints.

Way to survive your first three months of life in a house with two people who had no idea what they were (are?) doing, Mr. A!

The New Normal....

....isn't quite so normal yet. But I'm sure it will get there.
The work days were busy enough to keep me fairly focused all day long, but at this point it's hard to feel like anyone (work, Aiden, Ryan) is getting the best of me at any point. I'm told it will get better. I'll let you know when it does....
To cheer my spirits (though it almost made me cry), on Wednesday Aiden sent me some flowers, a picture of us together and a nice note telling me to have a great day back and that he couldn't wait to see me at home. Dad says Aiden wanted happy flowers.....and they were - very happy and beautiful. Made my entire day.

Miss Christi sends me pictures and videos throughout the day (love her!) that bring me lots of smiles. Like this one of Mr. A chewing on his hand, one of his current favorite activities.

Another cause of a big smile this past week? One of Ryan's co-workers bought Mr. A some Tom's. I mean, how cute are those? I just adore itty-bitty baby stuff like these shoes. Adore.

We loved them so much that we decided it would be best if the entire family had a pair of Tom's - for picture taking purposes of course. Photos to come soon......:)
