Dear Miss Christi...

Dear Miss Christi,
Thanks for taking me into your home for the summer, especially when it was supposed to be your time off of work. Thanks for letting me hang with my "big brother and sister."

Thanks for letting me drool all over and for cleaning up after my messes (all sorts of mess.....).

You  loved on me on my best days (remember those 2.5 hour nap days filled with lots of smiles!), and you were still sweet on me on my off days (remember that day it was just me and you and all I wanted to do was fuss and not sleep?).

You celebrated my milestones, like rolling over and making lots of jibber jabber, and you introduced me to lots of fun, new things!

We took lots of fun pictures and videos. Mommy says she wishes the new daycare ladies would take pictures of me all day, but unfortunately they have to pay attention to the other kiddos. This was a super funny picture day!
Mommy says you are the best, but she's silly for telling me that because I already knew it! I love you!

Off to Daycare

Little mister is at daycare for the first time today. I may or may not have shed a few tears. We'll leave that open for debate. In my head, I know he'll be just fine....my heart just has a bit of catching up to do. Ryan's parting words this morning: "Don't forget to leave the car seat......and leave Aiden." :)
Aiden (of course) spit up on the first pair of overalls we put on him (super cute gray ones with an orange rhino), but lucky for him, he owns multiple pairs.
(pretty sure he was concerned that the picture was a little off and he wanted to help with it)

Mommy made a boo boo.....literally

Daddy's job is to cut Aiden's nails while he's eating. He lays nice and still and it's easy to do. (I mean, as easy as cutting a baby's nails can be.) Well the Schweizer fam is in town and we are redoing our shower so Ryan has been busy all week. Aiden was scratching himself and everyone who cuddled him (he left a good mark on Ryan's nose!) so I decided to take my first attempt at cutting his nails. I made it through four nails and was working on my fifth, his thumb. I clipped and thought, that's a big chunk of nail! To which Aiden responded with a cry.....and then I knew I got some skin with his nail. BIG sad face. But, by the time Aiden started bleeding, he was done crying. I put his first at-home band-aid on (all others have been from shots at the doc), which last maybe two minutes before Aiden sucked it off.

Laughing & Rolling

Whew! I feel like our little guy has grown so much just in this past week. I wish I had the super power of slowing down time....it's just going waaaay too quickly.
We found the first thing that makes Aiden belly laugh again and again - Daddy blowing bubbles in the pool water. The kid laughed so much I nearly cried.
Mr A started rolling over regularly from his back to his tummy. Ryan and I were pretty concerned about it early in the week because Aiden rolled while he was sleeping and wasn't having any of that sleeping on his stomach stuff so we had to go roll him back....at least 4 times we unrolled that kiddo. But, by the second night A decided his tummy was an ok place to be and slept through the rolls (thank goodness!). We tried to teach him to keep the roll going so that he can get to his back again, but he didn't seem quite ready to learn that skill.
Friday was the 4 month check up (14lbs, 25 1/4 inches) and second round of shots. Aiden pulled out his rolling skills while we were there, to which the surprised doctor responded, 'oh, this tells me he'll be walking before a year.' WHAT?!?! Completely unacceptable. Not only is my heart not ready for that, but my house needs some serious child proofing.
Mimi and Dado came down for some snuggle time this past weekend and enjoyed the monthly picture with Buddy. They also got to see him enjoy his new jumper, which he just adores. Second most amount of laughter we saw this week.
